Craftsmanship

Making orthopaedic shoes is craftsmanship. We make shoes for every foot shape, especially for people for whom walking is not natural. We know better than anyone that walking in appropriate footwear gives freedom.

Feet are an important part of the body. If walking hurts or if you cannot put on ready-to-wear shoes from the shoe shop (anymore), this can get in the way of your freedom of movement considerably.

Depending on the type of orthopaedic shoes you need, a 3D model will be made. From the scan of your foot, we make a digital last. We then use these lasts to make the film fitting shoe. Any changes that need to be made are accurately noted on it. Again, we make these changes digitally. Once this is done, we proceed to 3D printing the lasts.

We also discuss the colour and model of your new shoes and produce the shoes entirely according to your personal preference and taste.

Discover in advance the latest trends in the model book below.

How can I get orthopaedic shoes?

Before we can help you, you must have a prescription from a medical specialist (orthopaedic surgeon, rheumatologist, physical physician, etc.). A prescription from your GP is not sufficient. The measurements are then taken using a plaster cast.

After this measurement, the application for reimbursement can be submitted to your mutual insurance company.

After receiving approval, the production process of the fitting shoe starts. Once the fitting shoe fits perfectly, the model and colour of the final shoe are discussed.

Refund of orthopaedic shoes?

For orthopaedic shoes, you always have to pay a part of co-payment (own contribution). This amount depends on the category of your condition. We distinguish between 4 categories:

  • Category A: severe conditions such as ankle osteoarthritis, pointed feet, clubfoot, forefoot amputation, ...
  • Category B: conditions with absolute indication such as big toe misalignment (Hallux valgus), flat feet, hollow feet, ...
  • Category C: conditions with relative indication

Our shoe technicians can tell you the exact refund amounts.
